Md. Asad Alam has taken over as the Chairman & Managing Director of Braithwaite & Co. Limited on 29.02.2024.

A 1990 batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) officer Md. Asad Alam has more than 30 years of glorious experience working with Indian Railways in various capacities. He has professional experience for the maintenance of all types of Railways Rolling stocks, manufacturing of wagons and Cast Steel items, fabrication of heavy components), execution of Critical projects as well as Railway coaching & freight train operations.

Md. Asad Alam has previously held important positions like Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing), Carriage & Wagon Workshop, Eastern Railway, Liluah, Sr. Divisional Mechanical Engineer (C&W), Eastern Railway, Howrah, Director (Inspection & Liaison), Research Designs & Standards Organisation (RDSO), Kolkata, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Kharagpur, South Eastern Railway (SER) & Chairman & Managing Director, Burn Standard Company Limited (BSCL).

He has professional experience for operation and management of manufacturing CPSEs.

Mr. R Veerabahu, 56, has been inducted as Director (Finance) on the Board of Braithwaite and Company Limited (BCL) Kolkata w.e.f. 01.10.2024. Prior to this, Mr. Veerabahu has been General Manager (Internal Audit) - at Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) Corporate Office New Delhi where he joined as an Executive Trainee in 1992 and rose to the level of General Manager in 2021. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and also participated in Leadership Management Program at IIM Bangalore and Leadership Excellence Program at IIM Ahmedabad.

Mr. Veerabahu brings with him rich and extensive post-qualification experience of more than 32 years in all core areas of Finance and Accounting. He has an in-depth understanding and vast knowledge of Pricing Strategy, Budgetary Control, Tax Planning, Target Costing etc. While at BHEL, he has been instrumental in formulation of various Policy Documents viz., Works Policy, Purchase Policy, Accounting Policy, Uniform General Conditions of Contracts etc. He has contributed to efficient Project Execution as member of various task forces set up for strategizing execution methodologies. He has also spearheaded major computerization activities at BHEL during his tenure.

Shri. Sanjeev Rastogi has joined the board of Braithwaite & Company Limited (BCL) as Director (Production), with effect from 08th Oct’ 2024. He holds an M.Tech in Power Electronics from IIT-BHU, Varanasi and a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from MNNIT, Allahabad with additional PG diploma qualification in Marketing Management.

He is a mechatronics professional with over 30 years of experience in leading teams in various aspects of manufacturing viz. production, technology/ process development, maintenance, services, Capex planning & implementation in Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). He has a track record of managing complex projects like establishing 700 MW Nuclear Turbine Manufacturing without additional CAPEX, debottlenecking Transformer Manufacturing, establishing green/ brown field boiler/ solar/ process plants etc. resulting in improvement in operational efficiencies up to 2X, at low cost.

Known for his passion in process development / facility modernisation and using cutting-edge technologies/ concepts like Automation, Robotics, IIoT, VSM, retrofitting etc., he has helped resolve legacy production bottlenecks & improve over 300 production processes, some of them for the first time in the country, by reducing rework/ rejection, cutting down cycle time and increasing productivity. He has also facilitated inhouse development of IIoT platform, Knowledge Management portal & Facilities Repository with OEE based analytics at the corporate level. These initiatives have enabled connectivity of legacy machines for predictive maintenance, digitalising operations, supporting diversification etc. In addition to leading various cross functional teams, he has represented BHEL in various committees of CII/FICCI/MHI/G20/Academia and received 3 patents.

By profession, Shri Sachin V. Dighde is BE (Mechanical Engineering) from Nagpur University and M.E. in Energy Management and system. Has more than 20 years of vast experience in Railway related works. Has worked with Indian Railways in various posts. Have experience in all issues related to Rehabilitation of Coaches, Management of Crew, running rooms, RCD. Coordination with several security services, RPF. Have worked for POH of main line and EMU Coaches. Experience in Operations, Loco links, Quality Audits of Railway Workshops, Purchase Inspection of Safety and other Items, Vendor Development. Previously worked as General Manager of RITES Ltd and Zonal Director of RDSO (WZ) and in charge of western and southern area. Presently, he is posted as CEO, Braithwaite & Co. Limited
